Young Leaders Day

On Tuesday the 29th of May me and the other house captains went to a Young Leaders Day in Palmerston North at  the Regent.


There were 5 speakers that talked about what had happened in their life that was a big thing  to them. The 5 speakers names were Nick Tuitasi, Dr Farah Palmer, Cam Calkoen, Jamie Fitzgerald and Dave Atkinson and a special and famous singer Annah Mac came and talked as well.

One of my favorite speakers was and still is Cam Calkoen because even though he had cerebral palsy he kept on going with what he wanted to do even though he was teased. That is why he is my favourite speaker.

Sweet Treat's Advertisement

Sweet Treat have been working on our advertisement for our company. Sophy (our accountant) has designed the fudge delivery advertisement. We have put them up on a window of room 15 and on one of the library windows.

Lilly and Michael found out that  roses were the most popular flower and daisies weren't chosen by anyone.

Meighan and Alyssa  found out that not many people had green eyes. Most people had 'other' which was hazel and other colours.

 Jordan and Haami found out that Netball was the favourite sport and basketball, soccer, boxing and karate were the least favourite.

Mathew and Isaac S found out that most people did not like the DVDs that they chose. Transformers was the second choice and no one chose Toy Story or Cars 1.

Chereese and Chloe found out that 12 people liked Christmas and no one liked New Years.

Sharna-Maree and Emma found out that December was the month with the most birthdays and January, May, July, August and October all have the same number of birthdays. February, March and June are not on the graph because there were no birthdays in those months. April, september and November aslo had the the same amount of birthdays.

Ethan and Jack found out that most people did not like the numbers that they had chosen. The most favourite of the choices was 18.

Levi  found out that moto x is the most popular activity and the least popular was miniball and soccer.

 
Salve discovered that puppy was the most popular animal and the cat was the least favourite.

BEST MOMENT:THE MUDSLIDE WAS THE BEST MOMENT BECASE I WAS FASTER THaN A CHEATAH AND I GOT WATER IN MY EYES WHEN I GOT TO THE BOTTOM AND MY EYES WERE COSED.
WORST MOMENT:ORIENTEERING WAS MY WORST THING BECAUSE IT WAS BORING AND PEOPLE DID NOT WANT TO DO IT, SO IT WAS ONLY THE LEADER WANTED TO DO IT.

Five girls from Room 15 competed in the tryathlon and it sounds like they all had a fantastic day.

Penhey Cup

Room 15's Waka

This is Room 15's waka. The words tell us how we can show Aroha.The words on the paddles are our class expectations for the way we think, speak and behave.

Percussion Instruments

For percussion Room 15 is doing the legend Matangi goes Fishing. There are six groups and we are all using different music utensils to make different sounds. Room 15 will show the other classes our percussion music in week 9 Senior Stars assembly. We are practising a lot.
