On the 20th of October, we (Rachel and Ruby), Michelle (Ruby's mum), and Mr Lovegrove (our principal) went to Parliament in Wellington to interview the Minister of Education, Anne Tolley. Mr Lovegrove is the editor of New Zealand's Principal magazine and he was lucky enough to score an interview with the Minister so he thought it would be a good opportunity fo
r us to be able to interview her.

Room 15 has been working on a tukutuku panel since the beginning of term 3. We are three quarters finished. One of them hasn't even been started though. The creators of them are Jachin, Mason, Ruby, Lucy, Summer and Alexa although all the class has helped. Summer is working on drawing the fourth pattern. The aim is to have it completed by the end of the year.

In Term 3 all the Senior Star classes are making a tukutuku panel. Our class got with a buddy and designed a pattern for our panel. We also had to come with a meaning for our design - what it symbolized. The class chose 4 patterns to be transferred onto the panel .

Hey, it's Michael here. I had a great time at the beach. We went for a long walk. We went to the mud flats. We made squares and counted the crab holes. After that we went to the ocean beach and did a running race.

"Yay!" Dylan said, we are at the beach. As I came out of the bus then having morning tea. Once we got our groups settled we went to the mud flats to look and see how many holes there were. After that we went for a walk on the beach. It was really hot. Finally we found a log to sit on. I thought that my tongue was going to fall out. Then we saw some car things like a bonnet and other stuff in the sand dunes. We went for a walk to see the plants like spinfex and marram grass and pingao.

When we got into our groups we had to get a stick and went to go and count the crab holes then we went to the beach road. When we got their we had to stay with our leader. We plant a seed in the sand. We went on the short cut way to the buses to have lunch. When we finished lunch we went back to school.

Hi I'm Amber On Tuesday Room 15 and adults, had a long drive to Foxton. When we jumped out of the bus we had morning tea. After morning tea Room 15 and adults stomped our way to the mudflats. We found some crabs and crab holes.I learnt a lot about pingao and sand dunes.

Hi this is Natasha. I learnt that if there is there isn't any sand dunes with plants on it there won't be a beach. The plants protect the dunes and hold them together. We got to go see lots of shells and the pingao and spinifex plant which was also on the sand dunes.

Hi this is Bailey. I had a good time at the mudflats. Jayden and I found some crabs for Mr Mataki. We went down to the dunes to plant spinifex seed heads. Troyden and I found some old bones. There were heaps of shells by the old bones.

Hi this is Jayden. I went to Foxton Beach and I went and saw mudflats and learned about crabs - where they live. You don't poke the crabs because it will kill them. Then we went for a long walk to the sand dunes and we planted spinifex seed heads and then we went back to the pines for lunch.

Hi this is Austin. One day I was at the beach with room 15 an 13 we were on the mud-flats exploring crabs and their homes. We drew a square with sticks that were 50cm long and we counted how many holes there were in the square. A crab's home is as big as a thumb.
