AROHA Room 15

Flying my Flag

We did a collage that symbolises us like an icon or something we like. These are our finished ones so far. Can you guess who these flags belong to?

SRA reading

In reading we had to complete SRA cards. We had to get a card and answer 5-10 questions and had to remember parts of the text. We had to complete at least 3 cards. The card questions were 'How well did you read' which is testing your understanding of the story and Learn about words 'Learn about words is finding words with the same meaning or a similar meaning.

Some of the strategies we used when completing the cards were asking for help, using a dictionary, when we lost the meaning read ahead and re read, ask questions to my self, making judements on the story, identify the main ideas, and visualising.

Rippa Rugby

Year 5 and 6s did Rippa rugby with Craig Clare and Reece Robinson from Manawatu Rugby Union. they came to teach us skills like passing the ball. Then we played the rippa rugby game. After the game Reece told us that they will be doing a mini tournament at Victoria Park on Mondays.
Everyone who plays will get a free t-shirt. LSS has three teams.

Flying my Flag

More photos of our art works in progress. Lots of concentration and patience is required and lots of quiet conversation.

Flying my Flag

We are learning to create a symbol that is a way of identifying ourselves. We are doing this through collage and as a flag. Our classmates will learn about us from these flags.

Prison Ball

Mrs Rei taught us this fun new game called Prison Ball. The aim of game is to knock over the players cones or get all the team players out. You can get them out by throwing the ball at the person below the waist. Then they need to go to the other teams prison. But the person
who is in the prison can still play and knock the cones over. This can be done when they can get the ball. You can get out of prison if the ball bounces once and you catch it or you catch the ball on the full.
Room 15 love this game so much that we play it at lunch. Every body is welcome.
