Hi this is Summer, yesterday we went to Foxton beach to find out about why sand dunes are so important. The plants that grow on the sand dunes help the sand stay still. They are called spinifex, Pingao and marramn grass. The only problem is, is that we don't want marram grass because it over takes the New Zealands plants.

Well we are going to try to plant more Pingao so it will over take the Marram grass.
